Malin Broman

teacher

Malin has been teaching regularly for 25 years, first at Lundgrenska Stiftelsens summer course for talented young violinists in Kall, Sweden and then as assistant teacher to Professor Milan Vitek at the Gothenburg School of Music and Drama. She later took up a position there together with her colleagues of the Kungsbacka Piano Trio, teaching chamber music and directing the chamber orchestra, a position she held until 2006.

She was a founder of Saltö Chamber music courses and Falun Summer Academy for gifted young musicians.

In 2006 she was appointed Violin Professor at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London, but following her move to Sweden she took up a professorship in Viola at Edsbergs Institute of Music in Stockholm, a position she is currently holding.

One of Malin's big passions is ergonomics in instrumental playing. Lisbeth Vecchi, a former teacher, has been and continues to be her big inspiration. They share their expertise in this field through working together with orchestras and students alike and giving lectures (such as those for the European String Teachers Assocation).
